EU’s industrial policy development and economic security

With growing geopolitical tensions and intense global competition for the development of future key technologies, Europe’s economic security is a high priority on the EU’s political agenda. The fact that the industry provides the technological solutions crucial for both transition and our security interests is undeniable. How is the EU working to limit the risk of economic dependencies being exploited by other states for political influence? And what conditions does the industry need to develop solutions to today’s societal challenges? On stage, we find none other than Joel Jonsson, responsible for international trade at Teknikföretagen, which includes issues related to the EU’s internal market, industrial, and trade policy. Teknikföretagen represents over 4,400 member companies, accounting for over a third of Sweden’s exports.
