Sustainability agenda of the Volvo Group

The Volvo Group has an ambitious sustainability agenda with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions throughout the value chain by 2040. A key element of our transition is the deployment of electric trucks, buses, construction equipment, and drivetrains. Our ambition is to achieve a sales volume of at least 35% fully electric vehicles globally by 2030. The successful introduction of products and services for this transition will depend on the competitiveness of our offering, as well as several external factors such as customers’ climate ambitions, the evolution of various regulations, public support for different sectors of the economy, and access to green energy. We need to accelerate the pace of the transition, and this is not something the Volvo Group can do alone. The green transition requires a systemic perspective and an ecosystem that moves in harmony. On stage, we have Karin Svensson, who has been the Chief Sustainability Officer for the Volvo Group since 2022, with over 25 years of experience in various roles within the company, including public affairs, strategy, and research & development. Karin is and has been active in several transport-related external organizations in Sweden, Belgium, and the USA. She also serves on the boards of Svenska i världen and International Women Forum Sweden.
